Job summary

Powertown seeks a director-level leader to own municipal and investor-owned utility partnerships from first conversation to deployment. You will build relationships, structure programs, manage pipelines, and ensure signed agreements translate into grid-integrated storage solutions.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration across utility, regulatory, and operations teams, scale the program, and recruit a team as the function grows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in utility partnerships or distributed energy programs.
• Deep familiarity with municipal and cooperative utilities’ operations and procurement.
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder initiatives from agreement to execution in growth markets.
• Commercial and regulatory fluency; ability to structure win-win deployments.
• Builder mentality with appetite to create and scale a function; strong coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Powertown's portfolio of municipal and cooperative utility partnerships from go-live to ongoing management.
• Develop trusted relationships across utility functions—program management, operations, regulatory, and customer programs.
• Set and deliver program performance targets: enrollment, capacity, dispatch readiness, and KPIs.
• Partner with utility stakeholders to deepen scope and align long-term strategy.
• Coordinate across internal teams and vendors to keep deployments on schedule and within spec.
• Identify design and process improvements through data analysis and commercial judgment.
• Build playbooks to scale this function across new markets.
