Job summary

United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO) seeks a Director of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS to lead total rewards programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and continuously improve HR systems.

The role requires extensive experience in compensation and benefits, with an emphasis on global practices and nonprofit settings. Based in Arlington, VA, this in-person position oversees staff, collaborates with HR leadership, and drives strategy across pay, benefits and HRIS initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in Compensation, Benefits and HR systems administration.
• 5+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in nonprofit, military, multicultural, global contexts preferred.
• Knowledge of global pay and benefits practices and HR system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain compensation programs including job families, pay grades and salary data.
• Lead development of benefits strategies and retirement programs.
• Coordinate data collection and regulatory filings for HR systems and programs.
• Communicate programs and policies across the organization.
• Manage relationships with external providers and service teams.
• Enhance Total Rewards and HRIS effectiveness and equity.
• Provide consulting to HR and other functions; mentor staff.
• Perform duties in the absence of leadership; handle confidential information.
• This is an in-person role located in Arlington, VA.
