Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, Technical Program Management within EPTech to drive strategy, architecture, and delivery of large cross-functional programs. You will partner with senior leaders to align roadmaps, optimize platform convergence, and ensure measurable platform outcomes such as availability and cost efficiency.

You’ll mentor the expanding TPM discipline, establish operating mechanisms, and guide teams through complex, regulated environments while communicating the business value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
• 3+ years of people management experience or influencing organization as an IC.
• Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business.
• Track record of building TPM maturity (operating models, career frameworks, metrics) at scale within engineering organizations.
• Exceptional communication and influence skills, capable of engaging deeply with technical teams while translating implications into compelling business narratives that persuade senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the organization’s TPM / Delivery strategy: establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling that scale across portfolios
• Drive development of and alignment on program roadmap anchored in business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and sequencing of dependencies
• Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse
• Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks, influencing technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost and resiliency
• Ensure definition of measurable outcomes of platform success (availability, scalability, cost efficiency, developer velocity) and ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams
