Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, Technical Program Management (EPTech) to drive large-scale, technically complex programs that align with business priorities. You will influence roadmaps, break down silos, and elevate mitigation plans for hard dependencies across multiple engineering teams.

You’ll lead the expanding TPM discipline, teaching the organization what a great TPM can achieve, while ensuring measurable platform success and alignment with long-term strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years of experience managing technical programs.
• Experience with distributed computing or SOA.
• Experience building distributed systems and scalable platforms.
• Experience with Agile delivery.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional programs.
• MBA or Master’s in a related field preferred.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification preferred.
• People management or senior IC influence experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to TPM/Delivery strategy and establish scalable operating mechanisms.
• Drive program roadmaps aligned with business objectives and technical solutions.
• Lead cross-platform investment planning and architecture alignment for platform convergence.
• Serve as executive escalation point for risks and drive data-driven tradeoffs.
• Define measurable platform outcomes (availability, scalability, cost efficiency, velocity) and ensure delivery accountability across teams.
