Job summary

The Class by Taryn Toomey in New York is seeking a Director of Teacher Experience to lead talent relations, operations, and opportunities for our part-time teacher roster across studios, digital, events, and partnerships.

You will partner with the CEO and Chief Experience Officer to design scalable programs, manage scheduling and payroll, and champion teacher wellbeing while upholding our brand standards. The role requires flexible travel between NY and LA and a passion for empowering teachers.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience working with talent, instructors, or creative performers in boutique fitness, wellness, hospitality, or entertainment.
• Direct experience as a people manager, including coaching managers and handling complex employee relations with discretion.
• A track record of building talent systems: recruiting and auditions, onboarding, performance reviews, and retention programs.
• Operational fluency with scheduling, payroll inputs, policy, and compliance for a part-time or hourly workforce.
• Comfort with data: read performance and engagement metrics and turn them into decisions.
• Experience supporting talent on set or on camera for content, marketing, or partnerships is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Champion our teachers by serving as primary contact, internal ambassador, and communication channel.
• Own and evolve the complete teacher life-cycle: recruitment, onboarding, retention, and experience.
• Oversee all teacher administration and compliance, including policy development, scheduling, payroll, and expenses.
• Lead teacher contract management, renewals, and compensation conversations with leadership.
• Collaborate with Studio Managers to balance student experience, studio performance, and digital needs.
