CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director of Software Engineering to shape technical strategy for a large multi-team organization. You will set standards, review work, and raise the bar for engineering excellence, including production AI and ML workflows.

Expect to lead 50–150+ engineers, drive architectural decisions, and partner with Product and Health care leaders to translate business goals into precise engineering bets.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading large-scale engineering organizations.
• Deep, hands-on technical foundation in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Proven AI platform ownership with production deployments, model pipelines, and responsible AI principles.
• Track record migrating monoliths to microservices and modernizing legacy platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set architectural standards for a 50–150+ engineer organization.
• Embed AI and ML-driven automation into the engineering lifecycle, production-grade scope.
• Own delivery and outcomes, not just roadmaps, with accountability for velocity.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Health care leaders to translate strategy into bets.
• Advocate for optimal engineering investments and address architectural debt.
