Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director of Software Engineering to shape a world of health by setting high technical standards and leading at the highest levels. You will drive strategy for a multi-team organization, translate business goals into engineering bets, and champion responsible AI and scalable architecture.

You will own delivery, push back on infeasible timelines, and partner with executives across Product, Data, and Health care to deliver impactful engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading large-scale engineering organizations.
• Deep, hands-on technical foundation in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern backend engineering at scale.
• Proven AI platform ownership with production AI systems deployment.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy across a multi-team engineering organization (50-150+ engineers).
• Embed LLMs, generative AI, agentic workflows, and ML-powered automation into the engineering lifecycle.
• Own delivery at velocity and be accountable for outcomes, not roadmaps.
