Job summary

DIRECTV seeks a Director, Software Commercial Management (SAM) to lead the buy side of software asset management. You will own the commercial lifecycle for enterprise software, drive renewals, new purchases, and vendor negotiations, and partner with SAM Operations.

The role focuses on portfolio strategy, governance, and spend optimization, ensuring continuity as arrangements transition from AT&T-supported to DIRECTV ownership, with strong cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Own the commercial lifecycle for enterprise software: portfolio strategy, renewals, sourcing, and spend governance.
• Lead end-to-end renewals and vendor negotiations with multi-year planning and governance.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio strategy and governance: establish the commercial-management operating model, decision rights, and multi-year roadmap.
• Strategic renewals: end-to-end preparation and execution for material renewals with 12–24 month planning windows.
• Business continuity: surface expirations, dependencies, and risks to avoid lapses or unfavorable commercial outcomes.
