Job summary

Farmers is seeking a Director, Technical Underwriting - Property to serve as the senior technical authority for commercial property underwriting. The role will establish underwriting frameworks, drive portfolio performance, oversee authority management and quality initiatives, and mentor the next generation of underwriting talent.

The Director will shape underwriting appetite, governance structures, and model development, partnering with analytics to implement advanced decision-support tools.

Qualifications

• Large commercial property underwriting experience required.
• Minimum ten years of underwriting experience.
• Minimum five years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead authority management and underwriting governance framework.
• Define and enforce underwriting decision processes for consistency with strategy.
• Own underwriting performance including loss ratio and profitability.
• Collaborate with actuarial, data/analytics to develop models and decision-support tools.
• Build technical capabilities and governance discipline across underwriting organization.
