Job summary

Community Assisted & Supported Living Inc. Sarasota, FL seeks a strong leader to design and implement the separation of the property management department into its own division.

This exempt role starts at $95,000 annually and oversees HUD PBRA, SHP, LIHTC-related programs and audits. You will lead leasing operations, ensure compliance, supervise staff, and collaborate across departments to optimize unit usage and grant-funded funding streams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least three years in property management or income verification; knowledge of LURA, SAIL, ELI, and CDBG preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant housing regulations and requirements.
• At least two years in supervisory/leadership role.
• Experience with mental health, substance use disorders, disabilities, or homelessness preferred.
• Proven management skills across teams and partner organizations.
• Strong leadership, integrity, adaptability, critical thinking, and problem solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong documentation skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, 40 wpm, and property management software.
• Must pass background checks, TB screen, and driver license requirements.

Responsibilities

• Track and report vacancies.
• Partner with leadership on marketing strategy and execution.
• Collaborate with maintenance and case management to maximize unit use.
• Oversee leasing processes, income qualification, and compliance across locations.
• Provide quality assurance for staff and offer leadership and guidance.
• Ensure rental rates comply with grants and contracts.
• Administer HUD PBRA, SHP, and Section 811 contracts; support audits.
• Manage LURA requirements and HUD-COC funding documentation.
• Maintain financial records related to rentals and contracts.
• Conduct internal audits and provide status updates to funders.
• Foster separation of duties and strong controls; support staff scheduling and payroll.
• Attend Florida Housing Finance Corporation and other housing workshops as requested.
• Provide a customer-service oriented approach when interacting with residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and financial information.
• Maintain records electronically; professional interaction with residents, staff, and vendors.
• Align with CASL Leadership Expectations and Core Values.
• Oversee staff supervision and evaluations; assist in hiring and timecard approvals.
• Other duties as assigned.
