Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Director, Product Technology for Preferred and Small Business Banking to lead tech strategy and delivery across client-facing and employee-enabling solutions. You will partner with executives to map roadmaps, drive product lifecycles, and strengthen digital capabilities.

The role requires deep banking systems knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable technology strategies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading complex technical teams or commercial banking sales/service teams.
• Experience delivering digital product and service capabilities in a bank; vendor enablement and client onboarding.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree recommended; Master's preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching and team management abilities.
• Expert knowledge of bank core deposit and treasury management systems; ERP and accounting platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations and regulatory compliance obligations.
• Advanced project management and communication skills.
• Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology product strategy and execution for Preferred and Small Business Banking.
• Partner with executives and Technology to define priorities and scalable roadmaps.
• Oversee the product lifecycle from requirements to ongoing support.
• Build and develop a high-performing team with coaching and succession planning.
• Establish clear accountability, KPIs, KRIs, SLAs, and escalation practices.
• Guide delivery of ERP/connectivity, data transfers, automation, and digital capabilities.
• Maintain knowledge of deposit, lending, treasury, and integration capabilities.
• Drive process improvement and transformation to boost service and efficiency.
• Support risk mitigation, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor industry trends to enhance service delivery and revenue growth.
