Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation’s Western Alliance Bank division seeks a Principal Engineer I to act as SME across multiple domains, overseeing essential applications and driving secure, scalable platform delivery for critical banking services.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners, guide engineering teams, and lead complex deployments while shaping roadmaps and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

8+ years of related experience in enterprise engineering and banking platforms.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Build solution designs that can be handed off to engineers for execution.
Review technical plans to ensure quality designs meet business objectives.
Develop dashboards to provide performance insights for key applications.
Document final solutions with physical and logical layouts and reference use-case models.
Lead and coordinate production deployments and cutover activities.
Ensure risk management and security controls align with regulatory expectations.
Design cloud-native solutions (Azure) for migration and enhancement of apps.
Troubleshoot complex issues related to Azure Functions and cloud infra.
