Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director to join our Private Client Services practice in New York. Lead multiple engagements, oversee accounting functions for high net worth clients, and drive financial reporting and tax support.

You will mentor junior staff, manage budgets and client relationships, and collaborate on firm growth. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years of relevant experience (private client services preferred), and CPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA certification preferred or required
• 5+ years of relevant experience; private client services/family office experience preferred
• High integrity and confidentiality with client information
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple work streams
• Strong communication, writing and analytical skills
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; QuickBooks knowledge a plus
• Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee accounting processes and monthly close, generate reports
• Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices
• Prepare financial entries and maintain general ledger
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts and intercompany accounts
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages and tax documentation
• Establish accounting procedures and internal controls
• Build client relationships and collaborate to resolve issues
• Lead and mentor Associates, Senior Associates and Managers
• Oversee staffing, budgets, and project timelines
• Support business development and add-on work opportunities
