Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Associate in the Family Office team within Private Client Services. You will handle comprehensive accounting and financial reporting for high net worth clients, maintain ledgers, reconcile bank accounts, and prepare tax-related work papers.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and strong client interaction. The position offers exposure to multi-family office services, close collaboration with senior professionals, and a path toward CPA certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 1-3 years of private client service/family office experience a plus.
• CPA or pursuing CPA.
• High integrity and respect for confidentiality of private client information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Record and memorialize transactions; act as conduit for family and third-party professionals.
• Handle full accounting processes: posting to G/L, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, monthly close, financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable and reconcile bank accounts for multiple families.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports and supporting work papers.
• Assist in annual tax package preparation and related documents.
• Prepare and analyze financial information for entries to accounts and GL documentation.
• Establish and document accounting procedures and controls; interact with high-net-worth clients.
• Participate in client calls and develop concise, complete deliverables; collaborate with team.
