Job summary

Utah First Credit Union in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a Director, Practice Banking to lead a new specialty banking division serving professional practice owners. You will shape strategy, build a referral network, and guide growth across deposits, treasury management, and lending.

Join a senior leadership team to drive growth with CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals, while expanding the practice banking footprint in Utah.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 7 years in commercial banking, business banking, practice banking, or related relationship-management.
• Proven track record of generating new business and growing portfolios.
• Experience with treasury management products and business cash-management solutions.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit fundamentals, and relationship profitability; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Launch and grow the Practice Banking division with strategy, operating model, referral network, and growth roadmap.
• Prospect and deepen relationships with professional practice owners as trusted advisor.
• Deliver banking solutions including deposits, treasury management, cash-flow solutions, and lending.
• Build partnerships with CPAs, attorneys, consultants, brokers, and centers of influence.
• Manage and grow a profitable portfolio and plan for future team expansion.

You'll have the opportunity to build a business line from the ground up, helping physicians, dentists, veterinarians, attorneys, accountants, and other professional practice owners access the banking solutions they need to grow, acquire, expand, and eventually transition their businesses. Your work will directly influence Utah First's growth strategy while helping practice owners achieve their professional and personal goals.

Here's What That Looks Like Day To Day

• Launch and grow Utah First's Practice Banking division by developing the business strategy, operating model, referral network, and growth roadmap
• Prospect, develop, and deepen relationships with professional practice owners while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the lifecycle of their businesses
• Deliver comprehensive banking solutions that include deposits, treasury management services, cash-flow solutions, and commercial lending products
• Build partnerships with CPAs, attorneys, consultants, brokers, industry associations, and other centers of influence to generate new business opportunities
• Manage and grow a profitable portfolio while laying the foundation for future team expansion and specialty banking growth

Schedule

Monday-Friday during regular business hours, with local business-development and networking activities throughout the community, based from our Salt Lake City, Utah office.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years of commercial banking, business banking, practice banking, or related relationship-management experience
• Proven track record of generating new business, growing portfolios, and building long-term client relationships
• Experience with treasury management products and business cash-management solutions
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit fundamentals, and relationship profitabilityAbility to manage a portfolio while simultaneously prospecting and developing new business opportunities
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving healthcare, dental, veterinary, legal, accounting, or other professional practice clients
• Established network of referral partners throughout Utah
• Knowledge of practice acquisition financing and professional practice economics
• Experience launching new business lines, specialty banking programs, or niche market segments
• Proven success growing both commercial loans and deposits within a portfolio
