Job summary

Utah First Credit Union in Salt Lake City is seeking an IT Technical Product Manager to own the core banking platform and related technology products. You will lead a team of Product Owners, translate business needs into technical requirements, and drive alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing technology products through concept, launch, adoption, optimization, and scale.
• Experience with a credit union core banking platform or regulated-finance technology environment.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.
• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs.

Responsibilities

• Define vision, strategy, and roadmap for Utah First's core banking platform and related technology products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Own and prioritize product backlogs, balancing innovation, business requests, technical debt, scalability, performance, compliance, and operational needs.
• Partner with business leaders, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical requirements, user stories, and product priorities.
• Lead and develop a team of Product Owners while establishing clear expectations, delivery standards, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Use data, performance metrics, testing results, and operational insights to evaluate product success, inform decisions, and drive ongoing optimization.

Here's What That Looks Like Day To Day

Monday-Friday during regular business hours at our Salt Lake City, Utah corporate headquarters.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing technology products through concept, launch, adoption, optimization, and scale
• Experience working with a credit union core banking platform, financial‑services technology provider, FinTech company, or other regulated‑industry technology environment
• Strong understanding of software development principles, system architecture, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines
• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product backlogs
• Hands‑on experience using data, analytics, and performance metrics to drive product decisions and measure outcomes
• Demonstrated leadership experience guiding Product Owners or cross‑functional product teams
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives, operational leaders, engineers, and external partners
• Proven ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain momentum in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with Jack Henry Symitar
• Experience within a credit union, community financial institution, FinTech, or payment‑services environment
• Experience leading multiple technology products or product portfoliosFamiliarity with experimentation, product optimization, and data‑driven product development practices
• Coding proficiency or software‑development experience
