Job summary

Utah First Credit Union is seeking an IT Technical Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmaps, and backlog for core technology platforms in Salt Lake City. You will collaborate with business leaders, engineers, and vendors to translate objectives into technical requirements and acceptance criteria.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, scalable architectures, and driving meaningful outcomes for members and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing technology products through the full product lifecycle
• Strong understanding of software development principles, system architecture, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines
• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product backlogs
• Experience utilizing data analytics, reporting tools, product metrics, and performance data to support decision-making
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with business leaders, engineers, operational teams, and third-party partners
• Proven ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for key technology platforms while aligning priorities with organizational goals
• Own and manage product backlogs, balancing feature requests, operational needs, technical debt, scalability, performance, and risk
• Partner with business leaders, technology teams, and third-party vendors to translate business objectives into technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Evaluate technical solutions, integrations, system architecture considerations, and platform capabilities to ensure reliable and scalable outcomes
• Use data, reporting, performance metrics, and testing results to inform decision-making, measure success, and continuously improve products and processes

Here's What That Looks Like Day To Day

Schedule: Monday-Friday during regular business hours at our Salt Lake City, Utah corporate headquarters.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing technology products through the full product lifecycle
• Strong understanding of software development principles, system architecture, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines
• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product backlogs
• Experience utilizing data analytics, reporting tools, product metrics, and performance data to support decision-making
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with business leaders, engineers, operational teams, and third-party partners
• Proven ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with digital banking, lending, payments, treasury management, or other financial-services technology platforms
• Experience with Jack Henry Banno Digital Banking, Jack Henry Business Banking, Alkami Positive Pay, MeridianLink, LoanPro, Velera, Fedline, Quavo, ADP, Oak Tree Business Systems, FastDocs, or similar platforms
• Experience with Power BI, FiWyse, or comparable analytics platforms
• Community financial institution, FinTech, processor, or payments industry experience
• Coding proficiency or technical development experience
