Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Director of Engineering, Platform/Services, based in the United States. You will lead teams building and operating platform services to support hundreds of millions of users, balancing technical strategy with hands-on architectural judgment in a remote leadership role.

Collaborate with Product, Security, Data, and Engineering leaders to align investments, modernize legacy systems, and uphold reliability and cost efficiency while fostering accountable, high-performing teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading teams.
• Proven track record in backend/platform engineering for large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to translate company strategy into technical roadmaps and communicate priorities to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams responsible for platform services including location, messaging, cloud infrastructure, identity, and partner integrations.
• Define long-term platform strategy and anticipate bottlenecks, reliability risks, and scalability challenges.
• Modernize legacy systems with focus on reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Establish high engineering standards for availability, observability, incident response, security, and resilience.
• Recruit and coach engineering managers and staff engineers to build high-performing teams.
• Build reusable services and APIs to speed product delivery and reduce duplication.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Data, and other leaders to align roadmaps and priorities.
