This role will lead a rapidly growing planned giving program and oversee a legacy society with 700+ members, while managing a team of 3 Planned Giving Officers. Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including staff management.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience overseeing planned giving targets that exceed $10M - $15M per year.
• Demonstrated track record of securing gifts of $100k+.
• Subject matter expert for planned giving, with an understanding of current tax rules and regulations that impact legacy donors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the organization's planned giving program, ensuring growth to meet and exceed an annual target of $13M.
• Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of planned giving prospects.
• Manage and mentor a growing planned giving team, that currently consists of 3 Planned Giving Officers.
• Collaborate with other development team members to secure gifts that involve planned gift commitments.
• Manage the legacy society and provide stewardship to donors that have expressed interest to include gifts in their estate planning.
• Coordinate planned giving marketing efforts.
• Oversee the review of documentation to administer planned gifts.

Salary Range: $112,000 to $147,000 per year with potential flexibility based on experience + bonus potential, based on organization and individual performance

Terrific Director, Planned Giving role with a highly regarded nonprofit in the Northern Virginia area. The Director will oversee their rapidly growing planned giving program. Their legacy society has over 700 members and has grown from realizing $2.7 million in 2019 to $10+ million expected this year. Their plans include growth to $20+ million realized annually. This role will be supported by and manage a team of 3 Planned Giving Officers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the organization's planned giving program, ensuring growth to meet and exceed an annual target of $13M
• Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of planned giving prospects
• Manage and mentor a growing planned giving team, that currently consists of 3 Planned Giving Officers
