Job summary

BridgePoint Associates, LLC. seeks a Director of Planned Giving for a highly regarded national nonprofit in the Northern Virginia area. This hybrid role offers relocation assistance and leads a growing planned giving program supported by a team of three Planned Giving Officers.

The director will drive the annual target toward $13M, manage gift lifecycles, mentor staff, collaborate with the broader development team, steward legacy donors, and oversee planned giving marketing and documentation.

Qualifications

Highly Regarded National Nonprofit

Northern Virginia Area - Hybrid + Relocation Assistance Available

Salary Range: $112,000 to $147,000 per year with potential flexibility based on experience + bonus potential, based on organization and individual performance

Terrific Director, Planned Giving role with a highly regarded nonprofit in the Northern Virginia area. The Director will oversee their rapidly growing planned giving program. Their legacy society has over 700 members and has grown from realizing $2.7 million in 2019 to $10+ million expected this year. Their plans include growth to $20+ million realized annually. This role will be supported by and manage a team of 3 Planned Giving Officers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the organization's planned giving program, ensuring growth to meet and exceed an annual target of $13M
• Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of planned giving prospects
• Manage and mentor a growing planned giving team, that currently consists of 3 Planned Giving Officers
• Collaborate with other development team members to secure gifts that involve planned gift commitments
• Manage the legacy society and provide stewardship to donors that have expressed interest to include gifts in their estate planning
• Coordinate planned giving marketing efforts
• Oversee the review of documentation to administer planned gifts

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including staff management experience
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Experience overseeing planned giving targets that exceed $10M - $15M per year
• Demonstrated track record of securing gifts of $100k+
• Subject matter expert for planned giving, with an understanding of current tax rules and regulations that impact legacy donors
• Ability to travel as needed, up to approximately 30%
