Job summary

BridgePoint Associates, LLC. is seeking a Director of Planned Giving for a highly regarded nonprofit in the Northern Virginia area. The role oversees a rapidly growing planned giving program, with a legacy society of 700+ members and ambitious growth toward $20+ million realized annually.

You will lead a team of 3 Planned Giving Officers and collaborate with the development team to secure complex gifts. Hybrid work with relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant fundraising experience including staff management.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience overseeing planned giving targets of $10–$15M per year.
• Demonstrated track record of securing gifts of $100k+.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the organization's planned giving program, ensuring growth to meet and exceed an annual target of $13M
• Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of planned giving prospects
• Manage and mentor a growing planned giving team, that currently consists of 3 Planned Giving Officers
• Collaborate with other development team members to secure gifts that involve planned gift commitments
• Manage the legacy society and provide stewardship to donors that have expressed interest to include gifts in their estate planning
• Coordinate planned giving marketing efforts
• Oversee the review of documentation to administer planned gifts

Salary Range: $112,000 to $147,000 per year with potential flexibility based on experience + bonus potential, based on organization and individual performance

Terrific Director, Planned Giving role with a highly regarded nonprofit in the Northern Virginia area. The Director will oversee their rapidly growing planned giving program. Their legacy society has over 700 members and has grown from realizing $2.7 million in 2019 to $10+ million expected this year. Their plans include growth to $20+ million realized annually. This role will be supported by and manage a team of 3 Planned Giving Officers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the organization's planned giving program, ensuring growth to meet and exceed an annual target of $13M
• Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of planned giving prospects
• Manage and mentor a growing planned giving team, that currently consists of 3 Planned Giving Officers
• Collaborate with other development team members to secure gifts that involve planned gift commitments
• Manage the legacy society and provide stewardship to donors that have expressed interest to include gifts in their estate planning

• Demonstrated track record of securing gifts of $100k+
• Subject matter expert for planned giving, with an understanding of current tax rules and regulations that impact legacy donors
• Ability to travel as needed, up to approximately 30%
