Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Director of Operations for Aerospace Mexico (B.A.M). The role leads the operations teams across multiple business units, shaping strategy and delivering excellence in manufacturing and governance. You will drive growth, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

You will work with senior leaders to plan resources, execute large-scale projects, and promote continuous improvement across sites, fostering accountability and engagement.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive professional experience in complex business environments.
  • At least 5 years in a Manager-level role or equivalent leading managers, supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manufacturing experience is required, preferably aerospace, automotive, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience leading strategic projects, plant start-ups, expansions, or large-scale transformations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, operational excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of systems and standards (ISO 9001, QAD) and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for BAES Mexico.
  • Develop and implement operational and functional strategies aligned with growth plans.
  • Lead and mentor managers, supervisors, and staff with recruitment, performance mgmt, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Ensure operational excellence and accountability for performance across units.
  • Oversee governance, capacity planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-site and global projects with alignment to priorities and successful execution.
  • Drive sound decisions to advance business results and organizational effectiveness.

What are your contributions to the team?


  • Partner with senior leadership in defining and executing the strategic vision for BAES Mexico.

  • Develop and implement operational and functional strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Managers, Supervisors, and professional staff through recruitment, performance management, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.

  • Ensure operational excellence and accountability for the performance, productivity, and results of multiple business units.

  • Establish and oversee business, production, and organizational plans, including governance frameworks, performance metrics, capacity planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and deliver complex cross-site and global projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and successful execution.

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in dynamic and complex business environments, making sound and timely decisions to drive results.

  • Optimize workforce planning and organizational effectiveness by defining, managing, and aligning resources with business requirements.

  • Partner closely with Finance to develop budget strategies, manage operational expenditures, and ensure effective allocation of resources across sites.

  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement.

  • Champion and promote the Achieve Excellence System, driving continuous improvement and best practices throughout the organization.

  • Support additional strategic initiatives and responsibilities critical to business success.


How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge and experience


  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive professional experience, with a proven track record of delivering results in complex business environments.

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a Manager-level role or equivalent, leading managers, supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Manufacturing experience is required, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic projects, plant start-ups, operational expansions, or large-scale transformation initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, operational excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Comprehensive understanding of systems and standards and applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001, QAD, and related frameworks).

  • Proven ability to ensure compliance, strengthen operational governance, and implement sustainable improvement strategies across the organization.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to lead in complex environments, manage organizational priorities, and drive strategic decision-making.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.

  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, engagement, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
