Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Director to lead a high-performing MSL team in the United States. You will coach, develop, and manage staff, align medical strategies with corporate objectives, and ensure compliant field medical engagement across oncology-focused initiatives.

The role emphasizes people leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven insights to advance scientific communication and patient outcomes within a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, RN, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, or developing others in oncology or a related therapeutic area.
• Strong understanding of oncology clinical landscapes and healthcare environments in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, coach, mentor, provide guidance and timely feedback to MSLs to ensure high engagement, performance, and professional growth as well as effective territory and account management.
• Develop and align MSL strategies with business goals and oversee the creation and execution of medical account plans and the Field Medical Engagement Plan.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across our enterprise to inform and maximize capabilities, partnerships, and outcomes.
• Foster strong collaboration with medical directors, clinical development teams, and commercial colleagues and represent the MSL team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with GSK standards, policies, local codes of practice, guidelines, and laws by driving a can-do culture where MSLs use sound judgment in their activities.
