Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington seeks an innovative, collaborative leader to serve as Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. This role provides strategic leadership for institution-wide efforts to advance excellence in teaching across face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.

The CTL serves as the primary faculty-facing resource for teaching practice, course redesign, assessment, and instructional innovation, partnering with multiple units to support teaching and student

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, higher education, instructional design, or a related field with five years of related experience.
• Significant experience in faculty development or teaching-and-learning initiatives.
• Ability to build relationships with faculty and academic leaders.
• Experience leading organizational change and program development.

Responsibilities

• Leads a university-wide faculty-development strategy including consultations and workshops.
• Advances evidence-based course design, assessment, and online/hybrid pedagogy.
• Provides vision and strategic direction for CTL and aligns programs with university priorities.
• Develops partnerships with colleges and units to support course transformation.
• Represents CTL in university and external conversations on teaching excellence.
• Oversees CTL staff, budget, and advisory council; manages resources.
