Job summary

The UCLA Library seeks a highly collaborative leader to serve as unit head for Teaching and Learning Services (TLS). The director will oversee programs including information literacy instruction, core research help, instructional design and assessment, and student engagement, guiding a creative team and shaping campus teaching and learning initiatives.

Reporting to the AUL for Teaching, Learning, and Research, the incumbent will build strategic relationships, manage budgets, recruit and mentor

Qualifications

• MLIS/MLS or related field at time of hire.
• Experience with program assessment.
• Experience leading public services in an academic library.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead service strategy for Teaching and Learning Services, including literacy and research help services.
• Collaborate to align services with campus departments and programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with campus partners.
• Oversee unit budgets and staffing of ~18 librarians and staff.
• Serve as Review Initiator for librarians and support supervision roles.
• Coordinate space-related upgrades to support services.
• Ensure collections support teaching and research needs.
• Collaborate with Library Development on donor relations and stewardship.
