Job summary

Widener University seeks a Director for its Center for Teaching and Learning to promote teaching excellence and lead professional development across the university. The role reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and oversees programs from new faculty orientation to external events, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement in student learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of collegiate teaching experience.
• Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes at course, program, and institutional levels.
• Experience with AI tools and technologies in a higher education setting.
• Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices and emerging trends in pedagogy.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators across multiple departments.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive faculty development initiatives including new faculty orientation and mentoring programs.
• Identify, develop, and coordinate internal and external professional development opportunities that support teaching, learning, scholarship and leadership.
• Collaborate with faculty, librarians, instructional designers, and other subject matter experts to deliver innovative professional development programming.
• Coordinate and manage faculty and staff micro-credentialing initiatives for continuous learning.
