Job summary

YMCA of the USA seeks a Summer and Family Program Director to plan and implement summer camp programs, trips, and year-round family activities aligned with our mission. You will supervise program operations, scheduling, transportation, safety standards, and camper behavior, while maintaining open parent communication and accreditation compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in camping services programming.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Knowledge of ACA and aquatic safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement summer camp programs, trip programs, and family programs.
• Oversee day-to-day operations: scheduling, program quality, transportation, and camper behavior management.
• Maintain accreditation compliance and facilitate parent communication.
• Engage with campers, families and staff in outdoor settings and in the camp office.
• Collaborate with the outdoor education team to support programming practices.
