Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a Director of Carrier Management & Procurement to oversee carrier performance, strategic procurement, and customer pricing strategies across our non-asset transportation network. This role drives governance, onboarding, and end-to-end carrier lifecycle management to ensure top-tier service and market-aligned pricing.

Qualifications

• BA or BS Degree preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in transportation operations with a proven track record of success.
• Familiar with transportation concepts, practices and procedures.
• Experience with direction, coordination and evaluation of department.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate organizational visions and values.
• Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and financial skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the essential transportation and procurement software.
• Independent and able to work with little direction.
• Hands-on, customer/carrier driven focus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen existing carrier relationships while identifying new strategic partnerships.
• Lead and scale a multi-disciplinary team of procurement specialists, carrier managers, and compliance operators.
• Develop and oversee carrier onboarding plans for new customer implementations and network growth.
• Monitor carrier KPIs, conduct scorecard discussions, and trigger performance reviews when needed.
• Establish multi-level carrier relationships aligned with program structure for long-term integration.
• Address carrier performance and program issues through regular meetings.
• Collaborate with Operations and Client Engagement teams to drive cost efficiencies and maintain premium service levels.
• Enforce compliance with carrier safety qualifications, insurance levels, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular scorecard discussions and communicate changes to carriers.
