Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Director of Site Reliability Engineering to lead the SRE function for a domain, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance and operability of production services. You will translate priorities into measurable outcomes and drive engineering practices with product and security teams.

You will establish SLOs/SLIs, lead incident response, and champion automation while staying technically hands-on when appropriate. This hybrid role is based in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software/SRE/production engineering with leadership.
• 5+ years of people leadership, building managers and senior tech leaders.
• Experience operating highly available distributed systems and leading reliability improvements.
• Strong SRE knowledge: SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, observability, incident management, automation, capacity, resilience.
• Hands-on technical depth to write code and automation with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define SLIs and SLOs aligned with product outcomes and measure performance.
• Lead reliability risk assessment and prioritization across domains.
• Develop reusable tooling and automation to reduce toil.
• Maintain hands-on coding and direct collaboration with engineers.
• Provide incident response leadership and post-incident learning.
