CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director of Software Engineering who thinks like a founder, executes like a principal engineer, and leads at the highest levels of the industry. You will set the bar—and then raise it—guiding a multi‑team engineering organization of 50–150+ engineers.

You will drive technical strategy across teams, embed AI and ML into the lifecycle, own delivery outcomes, and partner with Product, Data, and healthcare leaders to translate strategy into engineering bets with

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, incl. 5+ years leading large teams.
Deep foundation in distributed systems and cloud-native backend engineering at scale.
Proven AI platform ownership with production systems and model deployment.

Responsibilities

Drive technical strategy across a multi-team engineering org of 50-150+ engineers.
Embed AI/ML capabilities into the engineering lifecycle.
Own delivery velocity and outcomes.
Partner with Product, Data, and Healthcare leaders to translate strategy into engineering bets with precision.
Advocate for architectural excellence and manage debt.
