Job summary

Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is seeking a Director of Site Reliability Engineering to lead a distributed SRE team and shape how engineering owns, operates, and improves production services. Reporting to the CTO, you will set vision, operating model, and culture for SRE, owning core infrastructure, cloud foundations, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability to enable safe, scalable product delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in SRE, infrastructure, or related roles.
• 5+ years leading or developing infrastructure/SRE teams.
• 3+ years with cloud infra (AWS, GCP)
• 3+ years Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and deployment safety.
• Strong observability, monitoring, and incident response experience.
• Experience improving product engineering teams' ownership and reliability.
• Pragmatic approach to tooling: build, buy, adapt, or retire.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a distributed SRE team with clear vision and priorities.
• Define and roll out a Service Ownership & Maturity Framework across engineering.
• Own and improve core infrastructure services including cloud foundations and Kubernetes.
• Help teams improve ownership, readiness, and deployment practices.
• Make reliability and developer productivity measurable through dashboards and metrics.
• Improve deployment automation, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Mature incident response, postmortems, and on-call health.
