Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a seasoned safety leader to plan, develop, and manage EH&S programs across divisions. You will drive a safety-driven culture, supervise safety staff, and ensure regulatory compliance for multiple regions.

Responsibilities include auditing, training program development, incident investigation, and coordinating with project managers to implement safety procedures. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline.
• 10-12 years' experience in EH&S, including people management experience.
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training, preferred.
• OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOT standards.

Responsibilities

• Directs safety audit and inspection programs for compliance.
• Develops and maintains employee safety training programs and records.
• Leads safety strategy development and implementation across divisions.
• Investigates accidents and injuries; ensures documentation is complete.
• Manages site safety programs and corrective actions across jobsites.
• Acts as principal safety resource for division; selects equipment and supplies.
• Directs planning of specialized activities like crane lifts or confined space entries.
• Coaches safety staff and manages annual performance processes.
• Oversees recruitment and hiring for safety roles within the division.
• Collaborates with division leadership to shape safety programs and future work.
