Job summary

Eckert Seamans seeks a Knowledge Management and Library Services Manager for its Pittsburgh, PA or Philadelphia, PA offices. The role leads firm-wide KM strategy, library operations, and research services to support attorneys and practice groups.

Responsibilities include governance of repositories, collaboration with stakeholders, and advancing AI-enabled research and information access. MLS/MLIS preferred; law firm experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum four years of experience as a research librarian and two years with supervisory experience.
• MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited library school preferred.
• Law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a firm-wide knowledge management strategy that captures, organizes, governs, and shares institutional knowledge across practice groups.
• Establish and maintain precedent, forms, brief, memorandum, and work-product repositories with governance standards for metadata and taxonomy.
• Oversee law library operations: digital and physical collections, research platforms, subscriptions, and access to information.
• Manage budget, vendor contracts, and cost-effective resources while maintaining service excellence.
• Lead training programs for attorneys and staff on legal research tools and knowledge resources.

Education
