Job summary

Pathward, National Association is seeking a Director of Quality Control to lead a new independent QC function across BSA/AML & Sanctions. Reporting to the SVP, Deputy BSA/AML Officer, the role establishes strategy, framework, and standards for QC, and leads a multi-tier team handling alerts, cases, complex investigations, merchant acquiring, and sanctions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CAMS mandatory; 10+ years in BSA/AML with QA/testing background.
• 5+ years of people leadership, including leading leaders.
• Experience designing sampling methodologies and error taxonomies in a regulated environment.
• Deep knowledge of alert, case, complex investigations, and sanctions workflows.
• Experience presenting results to governance forums and supporting regulatory examinations.

Responsibilities

• Own QC strategy and operating model across all five review populations, ensuring independence from production disposition authority.
• Design and govern sampling methodology with risk-based, stratified approaches and calibration of samples.
• Define and maintain the error taxonomy aligned to regulatory baselines with escalation and root-cause rules.
• Lead and develop the QC team, including setting goals and succession planning.
• Own calibration program and monthly outcomes with documented results.
• Report QC results and trends into governance forums and coordinate remediation.
