Job summary

Lumicity is seeking a Director of Commissioning to establish and expand a commissioning practice across the United States.

This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership, team development, and business growth, spanning power generation, renewable energy, and energy storage.

Work remotely with project-based travel, leading cross-functional teams, mentoring engineers, and shaping the company's growth trajectory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience in power generation, power systems testing, or commissioning.
• Hands-on experience personally performing or leading commissioning and testing of grid-connected generation facilities.
• Experience with renewable energy and/or battery energy storage projects.
• Strong understanding of utility interconnection requirements, ISO/RTO commissioning processes, and grid-testing.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues using test results, SCADA/telemetry data, engineering drawings, and system documentation.
• Experience progressing from hands-on technical engineering into project, team, or departmental leadership.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng designation preferred.

• Establish, lead, and expand the commissioning practice across the United States.
• Lead cross-functional teams and mentor staff to deliver commissioning and testing programs.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop scalable commissioning strategies across multiple technologies.
• Maintain strong relationships with utilities and operators to support interconnection and testing plans.
• Balance hands-on technical involvement with strategic leadership and business growth.
