Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Director of Commissioning and Field Service to lead the commissioning, operations, and maintenance of our utility-scale energy storage projects. You will build and lead a world-class field service team responsible for system commissioning, post-installation service, and issue resolution.

This role develops field service strategy, processes, training, and procedures to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Commissioning/Field Service leadership.
• Proven track record scaling orgs, defining metrics and building a NOC/ROC.
• Experience with energy storage systems, power electronics, HV, SCADA.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E safety standards and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Commissioning and Field Service organization, including hiring, training, and managing field service managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Develop and execute the commissioning playbook, ensuring a seamless transition from construction completion to COD.
• Develop and execute the comprehensive O&M strategy, including operational standards, safety protocols, and QA processes.
• Own the MTTR and Availability metrics for commissioned systems, and develop preventive maintenance and rapid-response infrastructure.
• Hold full P&L responsibility for the field service organization, including LTSA negotiations and warranty/LD exposure.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, PM, and Manufacturing to provide field feedback for product improvements.
• Oversee technical documentation development including commissioning checklists, test protocols, and maintenance manuals.
• Manage budget, spare parts inventory, service contracts, and vendor relationships for cost-effective delivery.
• Travel to project sites up to 40% of the time to support deployments.
