Job summary

Ascension St. Agnes in Baltimore seeks an experienced nursing leader to direct Surgical Services. You will oversee patient assessment, care planning, and complaint management while aligning goals with medical, administrative, and ethical standards.

You will manage budgets, coordinate audits, and work with physicians and directors to streamline operations. Leadership and staff development are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma required; master's degree preferred.
• RN license and BLS certification required.
• 5 years nursing experience; 2+ years leadership/management experience required.

• Directs clinical activities including patient assessment, care plans, visits and complaint management.
• Prepares and monitors budgets for the nursing area within allocated funds.

• Removes obstacles to achieve clinical quality, service excellence and financial targets.
• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

• Works collaboratively with physicians, administration and directors to develop streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.
• Removes obstacles to achieving clinical quality, service excellence and financial effectiveness targets.
• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred

Work Experience

• 5 years of experience required. 10 years of experience preferred. 2 years of leadership or management experience required. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
