Job summary

Ascension in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Medical Assistant in the Cardiology department. The role includes direct patient support, room preparation, and accurate documentation, under supervision. Work is in a full-time daytime schedule at St. Agnes Healthcare.

Minimum requirements include a BLS Provider within 30 days and a Medical Assistant credential valid for the state of practice. High school diploma or 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient support: assist with examinations, take vitals and perform ordered treatments under supervision.
• Prepare treatment rooms, maintain cleanliness, and manage basic supply stocking.
• Interview patients for medical history and accurately chart information; transcribe orders for labs, radiology and medications.
• Handle clerical duties including calls and maintaining organized patient records to support workflow.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
