Job summary

Care New England Health System seeks a Patient Flow Director for Kent Hospital to coordinate patient placement, optimize throughput, and oversee Nursing Supervisor staff and the Float pool. The role requires clinical leadership and collaboration across Nursing, EVS, transport, and staffing to ensure timely discharges.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Nursing or related field, RI nursing licensure, and BLS; 5+ years of relevant experience, with 10 years preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s or advanced degree in Nursing or related field preferred with at least five years of relevant experience.
• RI State Nursing Licensure and BLS required.
• Certification in administration or related specialty preferred; expected within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow to assure timely placement.
• Rounding on units to facilitate timely discharges and assess flow issues.
• Provide clinical guidance on patient placement according to unit criteria.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing, and administration during high census.
• Oversee Nursing Supervisor staff, staffing office, and Float pool staff.
• Develop policies and procedures related to patient flow.
