Job summary

Houses into Homes Iowa is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across Programs, Volunteers, and Inventory/Warehouse in Johnson County, IA. You will lead staff, coordinate cross‑department activities, and drive efficient processes for delivery programs and community impact.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of management experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a job-related major and at least two years of management experience.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Slack.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Schedule varies – 9am–4:30pm and at least one weekend shift per month.
• Demonstrated organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to drive a box truck.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds with a lifting partner.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, communicate and execute policies, procedures, and process improvements for efficient day-to-day operations.
• Facilitate internal communication between departments for operational coordination.
• Set staff schedules and approve timesheets and payroll for regular and bonus payrolls.
• Oversee referral-to-delivery processes for programs like Comforts of Home and Express Bed Delivery.
• Guide the volunteer program, train volunteers, and track volunteer information.
• Oversee warehouse management and donation intake, inventory tracking, storage, and distribution.
• Develop community outreach to raise HiH awareness, update website and newsletter with relevant program information.
• Oversee external communications, including speaking engagements when appropriate.
• Identify staff training needs and source training programs.
• Provide Leadership Team support to foster a high-trust, collaborative culture.
