Delta Dental of California is seeking a Director of Network Development to coordinate and grow provider networks across the Western United States. The role leads contracting efforts, negotiates with providers, and develops strategic plans to advance access, quality, and cost positions.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in healthcare networks with a Bachelor's degree and proven leadership in large geographies, managed care knowledge, and strong negotiation and analytic skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 12+ years in network/healthcare industry.
• 3+ years in management leadership roles.
• Proven record negotiating major provider contracts.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience building provider networks across large geographies.
• In-depth knowledge of managed care and healthcare business.
• Experience with value-based contracting preferred.
• Experience with commercial and government programs preferred.
• Strong organizational/time management and project management skills.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Grows and retains business through competitive network access and quality.
• Develops partnerships with strategic providers to ensure a market-leading discount and cost positions.
• Leads initiatives/strategies guiding network development activities to enhance competitive standing.
• Oversees provider contracting activities to ensure efficiency and compliance with policies and laws.
• Develops and executes a network development plan for the assigned region and oversees a team to secure provider agreements.
• Evaluates and monitors providers' performance standards and financial performance of contracts.
• Supports Sales teams to win business and grow and maintain membership.
• Oversees provider negotiations, aligning with internal guidelines and financial targets.
• Serves as leader on enterprise initiatives around network management.
