Delta Dental of California seeks a Director of Network Development to lead nationwide network growth, negotiate provider contracts, and align access, quality and cost with strategic goals for the Western region and across the country.

The role partners with Sales, Compliance, and operations to secure market-leading networks, oversees a team, and drives value-based contracting and performance assessment to support growth and customer needs.

Qualifications

• 12+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 3+ years management
• A successful track record managing and negotiating major provider contracts
• Experience building and maintaining various provider networks across large geographies
• In-depth knowledge of managed care and healthcare business
• Experience with value-based contracting is preferred
• Experience with commercial and government programs is preferred
• Strong management skills to effectively manage division activities enterprise wide
• Excellent organizational/time management and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities
• Strong negotiation and strategic thinking skills
• Detail orientation and problem-solving capabilities

Responsibilities

• Grows and retains business through competitive network access and quality
• Develops partnerships with strategic providers to ensure market-leading discount and cost positions
• Leads initiatives/strategies to guide network development activities
• Oversees provider contracting activities to ensure efficiency and compliance
• Develops and executes a network development plan for the assigned region and oversees a team
• Evaluates and monitors providers' performance standards and contract financials
• Supports Sales teams to win business and grow and maintain membership
• Oversees provider negotiations aligning with internal guidelines and targets
• Serves as leader on enterprise initiatives around network management
