Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Director of Business to lead and coach a team of Account Managers and Business Team Managers within the MedTech and Life Sciences sectors. The role focuses on developing business plans, coaching the sales team, recruiting, and cultivating executive-level client relationships on product development and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 8-10 years in BD/Sales with 2-4 years in leadership, an engineering or business degree, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc degrees in Engineering or Business are required.
• 8-10 years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales, with 2-4 years in Sales Leadership roles.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing sales teams and $5M+ annual revenue.

Responsibilities

• Create new business opportunities by prospecting new customers within MedTech, Life Sciences, and engineering sectors.
• Manage existing account relationships and support active client projects.
• Optimize profitability with mid- to large-size accounts.
• Close service- or time-based contracts.
• Determine proposal and pricing strategies to meet commercial objectives.
• Build relationships with customer managers and understand business needs.
• Coach team members and report KPIs weekly; address performance issues.
• Travel to customer sites to understand and develop solutions.
