Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Senior Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs – Specialty Testing. You will set vision for Specialty Testing, lead product development, and act as medical representative to external partners and societies.

This role directs health economics and reimbursement strategies, cultivates KOL relationships, and guides pre-launch initiatives and lifecycle management, with remote flexibility and global reach.

Qualifications

• Doctorate level requirement (M.D., Ph.D, Pharm.D, DNP) with a minimum of 20 years of medical & clinical affairs experience
• Board-certified hematologist
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clinical and business issues to audiences of diverse backgrounds
• Strong leadership skills, able to create a dynamic environment that fosters transparency, collaboration, and innovative thinking
• Strong problem solving and negotiation skills; ability to influence and make recommendations at multiple levels of the company
• Minimum of 5 years of project management skills to establish strategic goals and to prioritize, plan, delegate and evaluate deliverables – with a continuous improvement mindset
• Has extensive clinical experience and a knowledge base beyond hematology that extends to complementary areas such as bone health and anemia and immunology

Responsibilities

• Steer and define bench and human clinical research priorities for product development, regulatory submissions, and marketing based on clinical applications and regulatory strategy
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across matrix organizations to achieve common goals and develop talent
• Establish strategic academic partnerships and solicit investigator-initiated research proposals aligned with Beckman research needs
• Lead global strategies for health economics, policy, and reimbursement (HEPR) for Beckman solutions
• Build and maintain influential relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to drive scientific exchange and shape future technologies
• Communicate and translate insights from KOLs into actionable guidance for product development teams
• Support pre-launch product initiatives, commercialization, and lifecycle management through education, innovation, and evidence generation
