Eight Sleep in San Francisco is seeking a leader for our mechanical/product design engineering team to oversee development of the Pod and a roadmap of new products. The ideal candidate has deep experience launching complex electromechanical systems from concept to production and will report to the Chief Product Officer.

This role requires traveling to Asia as needed, leading a high-performance team, and partnering with electronics, software, sensing, operations, marketing, and finance to deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing complex electromechanical systems.
• 2+ years directly managing mechanical and product design engineers.
• Deep knowledge of injection molding, electronics/sensor integration, and mechanism design.
• Experience scaling products to high volume production in Asia, as well as expertise in DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
• BSME or equivalent.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.

• Lead all mechanical engineering across the full development cycle.
• Grow and manage a world-class engineering team.
• Shape and execute the hardware product roadmap with stakeholders across the company.
