Job summary

Eight Sleep seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of product development from concept to production. You will lead a small, mission-driven team and drive decisions with significant ownership. Growth opportunities are ample as the company scales.

The role is based in San Francisco with strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, and design teams. Willingness to travel to Asia is required to support manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of consumer product design experience with injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration.
• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products, including manufacturing support in Asia.
• Proficient with 3D modeling (SolidWorks, NX, Creo) and design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA), tolerancing (GD&T).
• BSME or equivalent degree required.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems across plastics, metal, and soft goods.
• Drive designs through the development lifecycle from concept to ramp into production (Asia).
• Collaborate with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams to solve cross-functional problems.
• Perform analyses (thermal, fluid, structural) to meet product goals.
• Influence product direction by partnering with industrial design, marketing, and leadership.
