Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC seeks a Senior Director of Operations to own manufacturing execution on a FOAK fusion facility’s floor. You’ll lead with hands-on presence, remove roadblocks, and drive a safety-first culture while implementing high-velocity processes and new value streams.

You will co-create leadership frameworks, mentor Production Directors, and ensure rapid, high-quality execution across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, ambitious environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a senior operations or production executive role.
• Proven success leading operations through commissioning, qualification, and hyper-growth ramp-up phases.
• Experience managing multi-layered teams in manufacturing environments.
• Strong track record of driving safety-driven performance and Lean improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership across 24x7 manufacturing operations to enable rapid, safe execution.
• Mentor and develop Production Directors and shift teams to grow leadership depth.
• Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and EHSS to align manufacturing initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar asset-reliability frameworks.
• Communicate performance metrics effectively to executive stakeholders.
