Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Director of Major Gifts to lead the association’s major and planned giving program. Under the CDO, you will partner with the development team and branches to design and evaluate fundraising initiatives that raise funds and strengthen the organization’s mission.

You will counsel branch leaders on donor prospects, capital campaigns, and fundraising training, while building relationships with volunteers and boards to position the YMCA as the charity of choice in the local

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Seven or more years of professional fundraising experience, preferably with YMCA or nonprofit backgrounds.
• Ability to create interpretive materials to explain YMCA impact to potential donors.
• Demonstrated fundraising strategy development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to relate to branch staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strategize the association's major and planned giving program.
• Collaborate with financial development team and branch operations to implement donations initiatives.
• Advise branch leaders on donor prospects, campaigns, and capital efforts.
