Job summary

YMCA Camp Coniston is seeking a Development Director to lead fundraising strategy and donor engagement for a growing organization focused on youth development and camping. You will collaborate with the CEO, Board, and volunteers to shape major gifts, annual giving, and endowment initiatives while building sustainable systems for long-term impact.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fundraising best practices including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, grants.
• Experience in donor stewardship, relationship management, and community building.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze fundraising data and use results to inform decisions.
• Experience with fundraising platforms such as Bloomerang and CampMinder.
• Ability to learn concepts related to charitable gift planning, estates, and trusts.
• Proven success building donor relationships with volunteers, alumni, and community partners.
• Experience in fundraising, sales, business development, communications, nonprofit leadership, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CEO and Board to set fundraising goals and measure results.
• Lead major gift, planned giving, and endowment initiatives with donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Develop and execute annual giving strategies to increase participation and retention.
• Secure and manage foundation and corporate funding through proposals and reporting.
• Build relationships with alumni, donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
• Communicate YMCA Camp Coniston's impact through written and verbal channels.
• Collaborate with board and volunteers to expand fundraising capacity.
• Oversee fundraising systems, donor databases, reporting, and performance tracking.
• Work with program, marketing, and admin teams to share impact and align fundraising efforts.
• Promote staff and stakeholder development and a culture of learning.
• Cultivate donor relationships through thoughtful stewardship and recognition.
