Pacific International has been exclusively retained by a client in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical space. As the group grows steadily in the market, they are assessing their strategical functions and processes in order to increase efficiency and maintain their high level of optimization and success.

With this, the leadership are providing a huge focus on their Engineering function, aiming to seek a Director of Maintenance. This professional would be a key player within this flagship site, possessing accountability over the engineering team and being innovative with capital projects and general innovation.

Role Responsibility:

• Leadership & Management: Direct all facets of facilities and engineering operations, ensuring adherence to GMP standards and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Asset Management: Spearhead the creation and implementation of an Asset Management Program to ensure peak system performance and regulatory alignment.
• Capital Projects: Oversee capital project lifecycles—including planning, budgeting, and execution—while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Maintenance Oversight: Manage the delivery of preventive maintenance and calibration activities to ensure critical systems remain in a validated and operational state.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote operational excellence by enhancing system reliability, minimizing downtime, and optimizing performance

Desired attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
• Industry Experience: Over 10 years of experience in Facilities, Engineering, or Metrology roles within GMP-regulated industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, or Medical Devices.
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading facilities and engineering teams, with a strong focus on equipment reliability and maintenance excellence.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, metrology, calibration, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, and building management systems.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of cGMP requirements and industry best practices, with direct experience in aseptic operations and quality management systems.
• Project Management: Proven ability to lead capital projects, conduct long-term strategic planning, and perform comprehensive site evaluations.
